About
Carifesta Restaurant is an authentic Guyanese Restaurant that has been proudly serving the Bronx area and beyond since 1997. Since then, our mission has been to provide high-quality food that is authentically seasoned with all the Guyanese flare! Our restaurant is a small mom and pop take out that has been a community staple for the last 25 + years.

The Classic, the absolute customer fav! Fried Rice has onions, carrots, bora, all mixed into our unique rice. Thin slices of cabbage top off the rice. Customers go to combination has always been a Chicken Fried Rice. Don't let this stop you from trying something different, we have Pepper Shrimp, Roast Duck, Jerk Chicken and many other protein options!
Simplicity is the name of the game: we use fresh ingredients and offer a variety of proteins to pair with these tender noodles. Pictured is our Chicken Lo Mein.

How It All Began
My mom had a dream, of one day recreating her favorite dishes from Guyana when she was little, right here in New York. She was vivacious, funny, passionate, and loved everything FOOD. I remember being a little girl watching my mom in the same kitchen I am in today, working hard, but loving every moment of creating these traditional recipes that she learnt when her parents managed a restaurant back in Guyana. She passed away in May of 2015. I graduated university shortly after her passing. I found myself only seeing her in her famous red apron. I knew it was my heart saying "RE-OPEN. AND COOK." So here we are, cooking the recipes that mom loved and her very own creations. Many of our items are the exact same, and some are my own unique version of the classics. I hope you enjoy!

We are now offering an intimate space for events. For example, but not limited to, Bridal Showers, Baby Showers, Anniversary Parties, Birthday Parties, Brunches, Corporate Events and Luncheons , etc.., The space can host up to 55 people. We do customized decor, unique to each event and a customized menu. Our services are not limited to events only in our space, we travel throughout the tristate area to create your dream event.
