The Classic, the absolute customer fav! Fried Rice has onions, carrots, bora, all mixed into our unique rice. Thin slices of cabbage top off the rice. Customers go to combination has always been a Chicken Fried Rice. Don't let this stop you from trying something different, we have Pepper Shrimp, Roast Duck, Jerk Chicken and many other protein options!

Simplicity is the name of the game: we use fresh ingredients and offer a variety of proteins to pair with these tender noodles. Pictured is our Chicken Lo Mein.

 The Inspiration

HI! My name is Jasmine, owner of Carifesta BX. My parents opened Carifesta in October of 1997. They worked tirelessly to bring their dreams alive, and to give me the opportunities they could've only dreamt of. Their love for one another was beautiful, a symphony of organized chaos. I watched them battle so many different things while still holding onto their sacred bond. I truly believe it was their love and dedication that made Carifesta successful. I have spent so many of core memories in Carifesta BX. Birthdays, grad dinners, I even met my husband, Ryan, here. It was Ry that encouraged me to keep my moms legacy going. After she passed away he joined me and continues to be a huge part of this restaurant. Now our love beams off the wall, our own symphony of chaos ensues! It's that generational love that I hope our customers feel when they walk in. My dad is always a driving force of encouragement and support as he manages his location in Queens, NY.

My mom had a dream, of recreating her favorite dishes from Guyana when she was little, right here in New York. She was vivacious, funny, passionate, and loved everything FOOD. When she passed away in 2015, being in Carifesta gave me so much comfort. It was like all her love was locked up inside of the walls. I remember being a little girl watching my mom in the same kitchen I am in today, working hard, but loving every moment of creating these traditional recipes that she learnt when her parents managed a restaurant back in Guyana, (where she ironically met my dad!)

So.. today I am so proud to say, that I have all my parents traditional offerings on the menu, alongside some creative renditions of Caribbean classics all served in an elevated take-out space to bring you an authentic Guyanese experience.

Ry and I hope to continue bringing our community warmth, love, and DELICIOUS FOOD! We aspire to further set foundational blocks here so our daughter can also be proud of everything her grandparents created.

Sending you good vibes and nuff love! We hope to see you soon! â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹
